Important recommendations before your follow-up appointment

In order to optimize your visit to the clinic and allow our professionals to properly meet your needs, we invite you to carefully read the following instructions:

STEP 1: LEARN ABOUT PREVENTION MESURES IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Experience better vision with complete peace of mind. IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic has rolled out a series of pandemic-specific measures to protect your health and the health of our staff.

Arrival at the clinic

  • When you arrive at the clinic, a staff member will ask you questions about your general state of health.
  • If you have symptoms and/or risk factors and/or a temperature over 38C, we will invite you to postpone your visit to a later date.

Wearing a compulsory medical or non-medical mask:

  • Wearing a mask is compulsory in the clinic
  • The clinic will provide you with a disposable mask when you arrive

Physical distance:

  • During your visit, keep a distance of two (2) meters from other users and staff, when the situation allows
  • In order to limit the number of people circulating inside the clinic:
    • Respect the time of your appointment. If you arrive early, stay outside the clinic until your scheduled appointment time.
    • Since we are a care center, we are still limiting access to companions. Only caregivers are admitted. (Ex: Companions for the elderly, companions for people with difficulties of comprehension or mobility). If your situation requires the support of an attendant, please notify our staff before the visit.

Hand hygiene:

  • Upon arrival, disinfect your hands and frequently used items (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
  • Hand sanitizers will be available at strategic locations in the clinic.

Our mission is to provide you with high quality service without compromising on safety.

Contact our coordination team for any additional questions or if you wish to change your appointment.

STEP 2: CHOOSE A DESIGNATED COMPANION

Plan a designated companion, if your condition requires it. For example :

  • If you have been informed that pupil dilation would be necessary during your follow-up, to conduct a full examination of your oculo-visual condition.
  • If you feel that the quality of your vision is insufficient for you to drive safely.
  • If you need assistance with a specific situation.

The effect of the dilation lasts approximately 4 to 6 hours.

  • Dilation can cause : difficulty focusing for near distances, blurred vision, and increased sensitivity to light.
  • Driving after dilation is not recommended.
  • Provide sunglasses to promote your comfort.

STEP 3: IF APPLICABLE, PLAN A PAIEMENT METHOD FOR THE APPOINTMENT

Postoperative follow-ups following surgery performed at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic are generally included up to a period of two (2) years following the date of your surgery.

Charges may apply for an assessment or follow-up in certain situations. For example:

  • After one (1) year following the date of your preoperative assessment at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic, if you have not yet had the operation.
  • After two (2) years from the date of your surgery, if you have had an operation at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic.
  • If you have had the operation elsewhere than at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic.

Check with our customer service team to see if any charges apply to your situation.

STEP 4: IF YOUR SURGERY IS MORE THAN TWO (2) YEARS OLD, SEND US A SUMMARY OF YOUR MOST RECENT OPTOMETRIC EXAMINATION.

The IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic mainly offers vision correction services through surgery and associated postoperative follow-ups, over a period of two (2) years.

Refer to your trusted optometrist for any other request. For example:

  • For your routine annual eye exam.
  • For any emergency or symptom that occurs more than (2) years after the date of your surgery at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic.
  • Ask your optometrist to send us a postoperative evaluation form if he/she judges that your condition requires a referral to the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic. The form is available online for professionals, in the “Referents section”. Information can be sent to the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic:
